- To repair damaged or worn threads, the thread repair set BT541150 is excellent. Different thread sizes can be repaired quickly and easily. First, the old thread must be drilled out to the desired size with the drill bit. Then the thread must be cut for the thread insert. The manual installation tool can be used to insert the thread insert into the created thread. Once the thread insert is positioned, the tang can be broken off at the break point using the tang breaker.
