- The introduction of the so-called Secure Gateway module or SGW for short, by Fiat Chrysler, has severely limited the functionality of conventional multi-brand testers. Initially, this IT security measure was intended to protect sensitive data, but it also led to an encryption of the OBD, which prevents the reading of Fiat Chrysler models. As a result, TOPDON has entered into a partnership with Fiat Chrysler to enable the diagnosis of their vehicles despite the Secure Gateway module. Thus, there is the option to purchase an FCA SGW license, which allows the customer unrestricted, safe diagnosis of Fiat Chrysler models.
